Fight, folk metal recipients!
On 2 April, the freezing northern winds will blow the Latvian folk/viking metal horde Varang Nord to Szeged. The first Hungarian station of the Mist Over Eastern Europe tour will be located in the City Rock Club, and the local black/death metal band Vorlorn will ensure proper warm-up for ruthless battles - or unbridled dances. For those of you who like the nordic melody world and the text-centred extreme melody, that's where you should be!

VARANG NORD (LV)
Varang Nord is a Latvian folk/viking metal band from Daugavpils. During the twelve years of their existence, a number of singles were released with four albums, including international collaboration publications, which were presented together with the Russian Mjød and the Belgian Aktarum. Their latest material, the ten songs of Mygla album debuting at the end of last year - in the words of Christine Greyson, published at Elevar Magazine - strike a balance between neckbreaking death metal intensity, orchestral structures and experimental psychedelic textures, proving that traditional Baltic music has a place in modern metal. Thanks to the success of the publication in question, the ensemble has been nominated in their home country by the Metal Music Award of the Year 2025 in the categories of the "Best Concert Orchestra" and "Best Album" which is currently underway in the best metal formations in Latvia - details about voting can be found on the social media platforms of the band.

Vorlorn
Dániel Vorlorn Kövér (guitar, vocals) and András Libor (drums) joined them later by Nándor Tóth (song, guitar) and Ferenc Schmidt (bass guitar, vocal). In their music, they combine the elements of several subgenres of style (black, death, heavy, doom), and their lyrics focus on social dilemmas and questions. They have a number of released songs, which are available with text videos on the most popular video sharing platform (link below), of which the last Beneath The Surface landed in the online space in July.
